Anghiari is a splendid medieval village situated in the territory designed by the flowing of the Tiber and Arno rivers. An inviolable bastion thanks to the powerful thirteenth-century walls, it was a noteworthy reference point for many historical events, keeping the Tuscan flag high in a land of borders and very delicate balances. On June 29, 1440, the famous Battle of Anghiari, frescoed by Leonardo Da Vinci in the Palazzo Vecchio, reaffirmed Florentine hegemony over Tuscany.
